High demand reduces gold stocks

While demand for gold in the local market has shot up following a dip in prices, traders are being hit by a shortage of pure gold in Dubai. Several jewellers in Qatar said their sales had gone up 50% over the past two weeks. On Saturday, 22-carat gold was selling at QR84.50 per gram.
