This is in addition to the elegant sales and ticketing office at the Silom Road in Bangkok. The new office, it is hoped will help cater better to the needs of the passengers. The official opening was well-marked with top dignitaries and special invitees attending the event.

Present on the occasion as chief guests were Oman's ambassador to Thailand, Hafeedh Bin Salim Mohammed Ba Omar, and Wing Commander Prateep Wichito, who is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Thailand Airport. In his welcome note, Bennet Stephen Country Manager of Oman Air in Thailand pointed out that the number of travelers traveling to Bangkok from Oman is steadily on the rise ever since Oman Air started operations to this destination.

Oman Air's entry into Thailand last year was received very well by the traveling public. The ever-increasing demand to this sector prompted Oman Air to ply five flights per week which has been increased to six weekly flights currently due to the increased passenger traffic.

Bennet Stephens said that it is expected that the number of Omani tourists who visited Bangkok this year to be double that of last year.

Stephen said,

'With the opening of the new office at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport we hope to address the needs of our valued travelers as soon as they land in Bangkok.'

The new office will function as an Information Kiosk assisting the Oman Air passengers with information sought apart from providing them with any urgent situation assistance if required. This new office is located next to the Departure/Arrival Terminal building and can be accessed from the lower floor.

With Oman Air's flights into Thailand, more and more people have been flocking to visit this place that is touted as a must-see destination known for its tourist-friendly nature and attractions. Recognising the contribution of Oman Air in boosting Thailand as a tourist destination, Tourism Authority of Thailand awarded Oman Air with 'Friends of Thailand Awards 2008' under the category of international airline.
'We are extremely delighted to receive this award and the recognition from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. It is an impetus to continue our excellent services to the travelers,' Stephen said.

Corporate Communications and Media adds: Bangkok is a fast-emerging market for Oman Air. Realizing the full extent of the market potential, Oman Air has also introduced attractive holiday packages to this destination, which serves as an easy and hassle-free option for leisure travelers. The opening of the new office amply exemplifies the thrust Oman Air has placed on serving this sector with renewed vigour.
