The conference provided 150 GPs the opportunity to learn and interact with the most progressive leaders in orthodontics and related professions.

The delegates were also introduced to the latest techniques and materials available today in orthodontics. Of the participants, 37 were sponsored by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) to attend this event.

The program for this conference was reviewed and approved by the department of Continuing Medical Education at HMSDC for a maximum of 6 CME credit hours.

These credits are recognized by Ministry of Health, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Center for Healthcare Planning & Quality (CPQ) and the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi.

The conference comprised a variety of high calibre speakers, including all faculty from BUIDRE and representatives from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Boston, US.

Dr Steven Morgano, Chief Academic Officer of BUIDRE, said:
"The BUIDRE was established to promote dental education and is steadfast in its commitment to be a progressive and dynamic organization that is always on the cutting edge of clinical, practice management and technological advances in dentistry. All modern philosophies and techniques are taught and practiced at the institute."

Dr Ayesha Abdullah, Senior Vice President of DHCC, said:
itself on promoting academic and healthcare related programs through its affiliate organizations such as BUIDRE. No other organization provides such a broad range of educational opportunities in all areas of healthcare."

BUIDRE had conducted a previous CE program in Advances in Dentistry, designed to review state-of-the-art information for dentists on dental ceramic materials, microsurgery, periodontal plastic surgery, and management of trauma in primary teeth.

In addition, more than 6 study club presentations for dentists in the DHCC community have been organized and conducted by BUIDRE.

BUIDRE has offered a total of 12 CME credit hours to the dental community for the two CE programs conducted to date on Advances in Dentistry.

The current conference in orthodontics for GPs is just one of the many important ways BUIDRE has demonstrated a commitment to provide exceptional dental care and education.

Additional sponsors for the event include City Pharmacy, Al Hayat Pharmaceuticals and 3M Unitek.
