Mr Dougiamas said that Moodle can have a great impact on higher education in the region, and agreed to make the Moodle Majlis an annual event.

Moodle partner Stuart Mealor, Managing Director of Human Resource Development International Limited, spoke about his contribution in developing e-learning centers in a number of countries.

As Moodle users, Dr. Ahmad Dabbagh and Dr. Muhammad Ayman of AUST joined experts in e-learning, providers of e-solutions, and representatives of universities from Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and the UAE, who presented their experiences in the usage of Moodle.

Dr Dabbagh and Dr Ayman explained the reasons why they first chose to use Moodle three years ago.

In addition, the Ajman representatives visited the Educational Technology Center at SQU and discussed future collaboration.

They also discussed with Mr. Dougiamas preparations for a Moodle workshop to be held at AUST in March 2009 for faculty, IT staff and students.
