Global audience to get preview of DSF 2009 in WTM 2008

The DSF Office will present a preview of Dubai Shopping Festival 2009 (January 15 - February 15) when it opens its stand to a global audience at the World Travel Market 2008, which begins on November 10 and goes on till November 13 in London.

The involvement is part of the efforts to highlight the upcoming DSF 2009 and promote the festival as one among the world's leading shopping and family entertainment events to a wider global audience. The DSF Office will be participating under the auspices of the Dubai Trade and Commerce Marketing department (DTCM).

The DSF Office delegation to London will comprise of Abdulla Amiri, Operations and Logistic Manager and Adel Abdul Jalil, Event Coordinator. While DSF 2009 will be the main objective of the DSF Office's participation, the upcoming edition of 'Eid in Dubai' in Eid Al Adha, Dubai Summer Surprises 2009, and the ever-popular mascot Modhesh will also feature prominently during the four-day participation where visitors from around the world will have a preview of two among the world's most exciting shopping and family entertainment festivals.

Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Shopping Festival Office said:
"The DSF Office makes it a point to participate in every edition of the World Travel Market as it provides us with the ideal platform to communicate the characteristics of our festivities to key travel and tourism industry players. Our decision to also include 'Eid in Dubai' and DSS 2009 was taken considering the changes in the global tourism where tourists plan their holidays far in advance. It is also an indication of the DSF Office's ability to respond and act according to the changing nature of the global tourism market."


"Our involvement with one of the leading exhibitions that attracted over 48,000 participants last year signifies our desire to align ourselves with the best industry resources and work towards attracting a higher number of visitors to experience one of the finest events in the world today," she said.

The DSF Office stand will also host two students from the Adaad Scholarship Programme, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. The Scholarship Programme aims at encouraging local talent in areas of academic and leadership skills. The students will be involved in helping stand visitors get a better insight into the festivals organized by the Office.

World Travel Market is a business to business exhibition that was initiated to bring together the world's various destinations on to one platform. The event provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate, conduct business and stay abreast with the latest developments in the travel industry.
