- PRESS RELEASE
International Expo Consults (IEC), organiser of the annual Automotive Aftermarket Middle East exhibition (AAME), which will be held in Dubai next April, is targeting the Brazilian export sector with the appointment of a dedicated country-specific agent.
"Brazil is a major international aftermarket player with around 800 autoparts producers," said Mohammed Falaknaz, Vice Chairman, IEC.
"Figures produced by the Brazilian Association of Autoparts Manufacturers show that the country is currently exporting around US $42 billion worth of aftermarket products, yet its impact on the Middle East remains minimal.
"We anticipate the appointment of a dedicated agent for the country, who has extensive expertise and contacts throughout Brazil, will enable us to encourage companies from the sector to look for business openings in this region via trade show participation."
In the first quarter of this year Brazil exported US $534.7 million worth of goods throughout 20 Arab countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
"Saudi Arabia and the UAE are the country's major Arab markets with exports of US $149.3 million and US $119.5 million respectively in the first three months of the year," said Nasser Kader, Managing Director, Kader Trade.
"Though food, shoes and paper products represent the main exports to the region, there is ample scope to expand trade through the thriving autoparts and manufacturing sectors."
To date, exhibitors from Europe, the Middle East, Far East and North Africa, have contracted for AAME, which will be held at the Airport Expo Dubai. For the first time, the exhibition will feature the Middle East's only 'Tyre Industry Meet', which is being sponsored by Goodyear. The vertical B2B initiative is aimed at bringing together sector-specific exhibitors and buyers.
IEC anticipates AAME will grow by 1,000 square metres next year to an all-time high of 2,500 square metres nett. The show has national or industry pavilion commitments from Australia, the USA, India, Italy, Turkey, Taiwan, Pakistan and Spain.
