DTCM hosts road shows in USA, China and South Africa

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) held Dubai Road Shows in three major cities of USA and in South Africa, with an aim to enhance the awareness of Dubai attractions and facilities for tourists from USA and South Africa.
The DTCM delegation in USA was headed by Mr. Saleh Al Geziry, DTCM's Director of Overseas Promotions and Mohammed Al Muhairy Executive Overseas Promotions.
The Dubai road shows in USA were held in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles in October 2008 attended by around 120 participants in each show mainly Tour Operators, Travel Agents selling high-end, Incentive Buyers and Independent Meeting Planners.
The shows were supported and co-sponsored by Emirates Airlines, Arabian Adventures and Arabian Park Hotel of Dubai who expressed satisfaction with the venues, presentation and the turnout of participants and potential clientele.
The co-participants who accompanied DTCM from Dubai included Alpha Tours, Arabian Explorers, Dubai Airports, Dubai Immigration, Gulf Circle Tours, Gullivers Travel Associates, Habtoor Hotels, Travco Travel, White Sands Tours & Travels and Wing Tours.
Mr. Saleh Al Geziry had several press interviews in each city and said "USA remains an important region with great potential of inbound visitors to Dubai, as the number of gateways triples and traffic to Dubai remains strong." He further added "The reaction by the trade was positive and the interest expressed in Dubai is very encouraging."
Emirates and other suppliers requested that these events be held yearly in the USA and in more cities, because of the evident potential.
The Dubai Road Shows in South Africa 2008 which were also held in October 2008 took place in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town with an average turnout of 100 participants in each show.
The shows in SA were lead by Mr. Saleh Al Jeziry and Thani Mohammed Officer Overseas Promotions.
DTCM held successfully presentations along with its co participants which included Emirates Airlines - co-sponsor, Golden Sands Hotel Apartments - co-sponsor, Alpha Tours - co-sponsor, Arabian Adventures, Arabian Park Hotel, Destination of the World Travel & Tourism, Emirates Holidays, Gulf Oasis Tourism, International Travel Service, Metropolitan Deira Hotel, Ministry of Interior Naturalization & Residency Administration, Reem Tours & Travel, Royal Arabian Tours, SNTTA Emir Tours and Southern Sun Hotel.
China was also on the agenda for DTCM in October, where DTCM hosted three road shows in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Emirates Airline, Taj Palace Hotel Dubai and Royal Arabian Tours all from Dubai who were co-Sponsors of the shows expressed satisfaction on the successful turnout and results of the shows.
The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is dedicated to increase the number of visitors through various promotions, online services, exhibitions and road-shows in the region and around the world.
