The decision to sponsor the Russia Investment Roadshow is part of Zaya's drive to strengthen relationships with the affluent Russian community; investors and buyers alike. During the inauguration evening, Nadia Zaal, CEO of Zaya LLC, addressed a gathering of distinguished members of the Russian and local community saying; "Tonight, we celebrate the coming together of two of the biggest players in today's global economy, and celebrate our two nations' belief that this investment roadshow actually comes at a good time where savvy investors not only recognize golden opportunities but seize them. Tonight celebrates two world winning cities which are together redefining the very essence of 21st century global competitiveness".
"Russia is a prominent player in the luxury industry today. Russia's economy has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years. It has the world's third largest concentration of billionaires, and over 100,000 multi-millionaires who have a combined net worth of $300bn,"
she added
According to a report issued by leading investment bank, Merrill Lynch, by 2009 Russia will be the world's fastest growing luxury goods market, accounting for 7% of the world's market for luxury goods, with a minimum of 15% growth year on year over the next five years
The Russia Investment Roadshow is an intensive interactive event focusing on investment opportunities in Russia and the continuing growth of Russian investment abroad. It will play host to industry movers and shakers, CEOs, bankers, investors, government figures, journalists and other opinion leaders from the Russian Federation and the UAE.
A spokesperson for Eventica, organizers of the Roadshow says:
"Zaya has the
kind of unique offering which is highly appealing to the Russian market given its unquenching thirst for luxury."
In addition to luxury goods, the demand for high-end real estate both in Russia and internationally, is rapidly accelerating. In New York City alone, Russia represents the largest contingency of foreign buyers, not to mention such noteworthy real estate transactions as the purchase of Donald Trump's beachfront mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, by a Russian oligarch, Dimitry Rybolovlev for $95m (the most expensive residential sale recorded in the USA).
Zaya made news in May 2008 with the spectacularly successful launch of its inaugural project, Nurai Island, the uber-luxury, exclusive residential and tourist development under construction off the coast of Abu Dhabi.
In its October 2008 issue, Nurai Island was described by Newsweek as "the most luxurious project in the world".
