Al Gharbia Career Fair 2008 evokes tremendous response

The Western Region Development Council, the central co-coordinating body leading development and promoting opportunity in Al Gharbia, today announced that the Al Gharbia Career Fair 2008 held at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) campuses in Madinat Zayed and Ruwais was a huge success in terms of participation and employment opportunities offered.

The Al Gharbia Career Fair 2008, the first of its kind in the region was held at the HCT campuses; in Madinat Zayed College on November 2 and 3 and in Ruwais College on November 5 and 6. Top local, national and international companies took part in the career fair, which facilitated information-sharing and highlighted the various career opportunities for more than 1000 students and members of the public.

Speaking at the Al Gharbia Career Fair, WRDC Director General H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, said:
"We are thrilled with the response generated by our region's first Career Fair. The success is another tremendous step towards creating more job opportunities for our residents and a better business environment in Al Gharbia. By partnering with HCT to organize the Al Gharbia Career Fair, WRDC is in-line with its vision to reach out to the residents of Al Gharbia and ensure that the correct manpower and jobs are matched to develop the region and its people accordingly."


WRDC and HCT and the participation of major employers in Al Gharbia such as ADNOC, GASCO, Al Mirfa Power Co; Governmental Organizations such as Al Gharbia Municipality, TAMM, Abu Dhabi Police, Al Gharbia medical region; Investors such as KEO and Mouchel; Banks such as Dubai Islamic bank and Mashreq bank; Career management bodies such as Tanmia, jobs.abudhabi.ae and Irshad - as well as Higher Education entities NAPO and VETI have ensured the success of the Al Gharbia Career Fair, 2008.

H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei added, "The Al Gharbia Career Fair, 2008 has accomplished more than its mission thanks to HCT, our strategic partners and the participating companies. Our success this year has paved the way for more fairs to be held on an annual basis to create an environment where employers and potential employees in Al Gharbia can come together. In the future, we will strive to build on this first Career Fair to do this, we will aim to increase company and resident participation and offer additional workshops and supplementary activities for attendees."
