Dubai Airport Free Zone pledges enhanced services and improved customer experience to tenants

Dubai's unprecedented growth has helped Dubai Airport Free Zone achieve 84% net profit and a remarkable 59% increase in revenues in 2008, said Nasser Al Madani, Assistant Director General of Dubai Airport Free Zone at a networking luncheon held in Dubai recently.

Speaking before a packed audience of legal and financial consultants, commercial attaches of various embassies and consulates and other business partners, Al Madani said: "The fast-paced growth of Dubai has formidably helped our business to achieve fantastic results and it continues to do so. Our achievements would not have been possible without your cooperation and support. Therefore let us continue hand in hand to overcome the challenges ahead.

"We benefited a great deal from the networking event organized earlier this year through the various suggestions and ideas presented by the attendees. The outcome of the previous gathering has encouraged us to come up again and sit with you for further improvements of our services and create better and innovative methods of delivering services to our clients.

He added that the current events in the world of finance and banking had added new "challenges to all sectors of business that will force many sectors to redesign the rules of the game on how to deliver business and enhance services."

Mr. Jamal Bin Marghoob, Dubai Airport Free Zone's Deputy Director of Sales, presented the fourth expansion plan which is expected to be completed this year with 100,000 square metres of total leasable area that could accommodate 900 companies.

Explaining the benefits of setting up an office at the Free Zone, Mr. Marghoob said: "Dubai Airport Free Zone offers 100% corporate tax exemption, 100% import and export tax exemption and 100% income tax exemption."

He added that Dubai Airport Free Zone has implemented the Oracle programme to make it easier for investors and added more incentives for those setting up offices at the zone.

Apart from tax incentives, Mr. Marghoob said investment incentives included 100% foreign company ownership, 100% repatriation of capital and profits, no customs duty and no currency restrictions.

Following the success of the second networking event which resulted in fruitful business inquiries, Mr. Madani said plans are afoot to hold similar events at least twice a year.
