Oman Air honours travel agents in Lebanon

Oman Air recently organized a felicitation event in Lebanon to honour the travel agents there.

The gala celebration arranged in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism in Oman was held at hotel Crowne Plaza, Hamra. Many dignitaries were present on the occasion including H.E. Mohammed bin Khalil bin Saleh Al Jazmi - the Ambassador of Oman to Lebanon, members of the Omani embassy in Lebanon and representatives of the travel and tourism agencies. Oman Air has been following a very pro-active role with the general sales and travel agents across the various stations motivating them all the while with incentives.

Abdulla Zantout, Regional Manager, Oman Air, gave a rousing welcome to the distinguished guests headed by Ambassador Mohammed bin Khalil bin Saleh Al Jazmi and expressed his thanks for the considerable support of travel agents in Lebanon. He brought to the notice of all present, about the latest developments happening at Oman Air including the new corporate logo that was unveiled early this year.

"The new logo represents the creativity and vitality of Oman Air that is keeping pace with the global players of the industry. Oman Air has proven itself as a major carrier in the region, with emphasis on transport as a tool for the development of the tourism market in Oman." Zantout said.

In his speech, Zantout informed that the company in compliance with international standards to further improve the services, has signed a contract with Airbus to acquire 7 new aircrafts A330-300 & A330-200 to be delivered from 2009 and the company fleet will consist of 15 Boeing 737/800 (at the end of January 2009) .

Zantout said,
"In addition, Oman Air has entered into an agreement to acquire six Boeing 787 Dream-liners. After the delivery of these aircrafts Oman Air will be the first company in the Gulf to acquire it. The delivery of these aircrafts is expected as from 2012. Oman Air currently flies to twenty seven destinations with plans to add more in the coming days."


The ceremony also included a wonderful overview of tourist locales in Oman, provided by Rania Khedr, the representative of the Ministry of Tourism in France, where she dazzled the audience present with a commentary on the beautiful tourist areas in the Sultanate of Oman that are attracting tourists from all over the world.

Certificates and commemorative shields were distributed to the distinguished agencies that achieved high sales during the year 2007. An entertainment program enlivened the evening that was followed by distribution of awards to the attendees.
