Abu Dhabi University (ADU) hosted a jazz concert by the German Youth Orchestra at the university's auditorium on its Abu Dhabi campus.
Bin Harmal pointed out that the event was a significant indicator of ADU's insistence on becoming one of the prominent scientific and creative institutes in the country and region.
He praised the participation of the German orchestra in this event, and noted that ADU intends to attract more such international music groups and creative artists, who enrich human lives with their creativity, in future.
Bin Harmal added that the university is abiding by the recommendations of His Highness General Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, which call for the transformation of Abu Dhabi into a global centre of cultural creativity and communication.
The university also embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Abu Dhabi University Board of Trustees and Governors, to emphasize the message of the university and its role in the society as a centre that facilitates cultural and intellectual cooperation with the rest of the world; that brings the world in touch with the local culture; and introduces the folklore and rich culture of the UAE to a global audience.
Mr. Klaus-Peter Brandes, the German Ambassador in the UAE, congratulated ADU on the importance and value of this initiative, and he noted that he hoped the event would be the first of many collaborations.
He also added that the German Youth Orchestra is considered one of the most prestigious international orchestras, and its presence at ADU signifies the cultural and creative developments which Abu Dhabi has witnessed as an international capital of Art and Culture.
It's worth mentioning that the renowned international artist Bernd Konrad was leading the orchestra during the concert.
