Guests will have the opportunity to place bids on a range of donated items throughout the evening with the highest bidder being identified at the ball.
The event has become a staple in the energy industry calendar and will attract the most senior members from some of the biggest energy companies from across the GCC.
The night will see the crowning of the 2008 Oil Baron as well as a fantastic dinner and superb entertainment, courtesy of West End cast of hit show Grease.
Also featured is a musical extravaganza "A Rock Through the Ages" that will have the crowd rocking in the aisles.
The money raised from the auction will be donated in full to Friends of Cancer Patients and will be put to good use in helping educate families and individuals on the risks of cancer and the ways in which some changes to modern, every day living, can help to substantially reduce these risks.
The organisation also supports sufferers and those close to them by providing necessary care services and financial aid as well as promoting important research into the disease.
One of the sufferers the charity is seeking to help is 11-year-old Mustafa, who has leukaemia and has to make long journey from Sharjah to Al Ain at least once a week for treatment.
His wish is for his family to have a car so as to make the journey to and from his appointments much easier and less tiring.
Another young child in need is Zahara, who wishes for a laptop and the opportunity to go to school.
However, the fees are expensive and the charity wants to make Zahara's wishes come true and send her to school with a new lap top, giving her the best educational opportunity it can.
The Oil Baron's Ball has already received a donation from ADIPEC, the regions largest energy exhibition, of a laptop for Zahara and so we now look to make her dream come true by raising as much money as possible for her school fees.
Eileen Michael, group publishing editor at Reflex Publishing, said:
"We are delighted to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile cause. Unfortunately, so many of us are affected, directly or indirectly, by cancer and it is something that touches everyone's heart. I know that the guests at this year's Oil Barons' Ball will join me in ensuring that a significant amount is donated to the charity, in order to further its fantastic work in the UAE. Lets all stand up for cancer."
