SOIETZ develops first phase of industrial city in Al-Kharj

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulrahman bin Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the Governor of Al-Kharj, SOIETZ signed a contract worth SR54m for the development of infrastructure for the first phase of the industrial city in Al-Kharj.
The signing ceremony was attended by Director General of SOEITZ, Dr. Tawfig F. Alrabiah.
The signing ceremony under the auspices of His Highness is an evidence of the care and attention from His Highness to boost economic development in Al-Kharj governorate, and to follow up and supervise directly demonstrates his major role in completing this project.
It is noteworthy that the industrial city in Al-Kharj will be on a total area of more than 99 million square meters and the first phase on an area of 5 million square meters will be developed.
At the conclusion of the signing ceremony, His Excellency the Minister commended the efforts made by the Director General of SOIETZ Dr. Tawfig F. Alrabiah and SOIETZ project management team, and urged Fadak International co. in cooperation with Al-Ameer Co. for Trade and Contracting to start the execution of the project earliest possible as the development of this project is important to support the national industrial development and to meet the needs of industrialists and businessmen.
His Excellency also expressed his happiness for the achievements being witnessed by SOIETZ and the industrial cities under the guidance and support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and his Deputy.
For his part, Dr. Tawfig Alrabiah, Director General of SOIETZ stated that there are many industrial activities in Al-Kharj governorate (such as food and drinks industries - the textile and garments, leather - paper-making, printing and publishing - chemical and plastic products industries - building materials industry, china and porcelain and glass - metal products manufactures industry, machinery and equipment - preservation of grain and foodstuffs).
The total number of producing factories in the governorate is about 57 factories with a total funding of about 3167 million riyals. The total number of industrial workers is about 5184 workers.
The Al-Kharj industrial city will be an excellent model and an environment suitable for these plants. It will provide job opportunities for Saudis estimated at more than 10 thousand jobs, and projects worth more than 400 million riyals after the end of the final stages of development. The Al-Kharj industrial city will also provide investment opportunity for investors in the Riyadh region, which is about 100 km away from Riyadh.
SOIETZ is keen to develop the industrial cities to be a model of modern development with complete design and integrated services in cooperation with reputed contractors and designers for providing superior service, in order to provide the best results in line with international standards. The general plan of the city consists of industrial and commercial activities and areas of residential use. It also includes an Exhibition Center, marketing services and public utilities, roads, warehouses and any additions in future.
For your information, SOIETZ supervises 19 industrial cities in various parts of the Kingdom and a total area of about 89.5 million square meters in various cities, such as, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, Qassim, Al-Ahsa, Madinah Medina, Assir, Al-Jauf, Tabuk, Hail and Najran. SOIETZ's total investment exceeds 200 billion riyals, and employs more than 300 thousand workers. SOIETZ has allocated an un-developed total area of more than 458 million square meters for the establishment of new industrial cities in different regions of Saudi Arabia in Sudair, Al-Kharj, south of Jeddah, Jazan, Arar, Na'wan, Aqeeq in Baha, Qassim, Al-Ahsa, Duba, Gurayat, Zulfi and Taif.
