HSBC curbs lending in UAE

HSBC, Europe's largest bank, said it has doubled the monthly salary requirement for customers in the UAE seeking personal loans. HSBC in a statement said that its customers in the UAE must earn at least Dhs20,000 ($5,450) before they are eligible for a personal loan. HSBC had doubled the loan threshold to Dhs10,000 from Dhs5,000 in early October.
