- Middle East: Wednesday, November 12 - 2008 at 09:07
A group of media professionals and academics has devised the Arab Media Strategy, which is designed to give an empowering image of Arab women. The strategy, launched at the Arab Women's Organisation (AWO) Conference, will be implemented in the next two years in the areas of politics, economy, society, education, sports, health and environment. Passive and submissive portrayal of Arab women in the media will be challenged, in favour of more central and positive image through the initiatives of the strategy, reported Khaleej Times.
