Sharjah bans service in cars
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, November 12 - 2008 at 09:16
The UAE emirate of Sharjah has banned shops and restaurants from serving customers in cars parked on the roads. It has become common practice for restaurants, groceries and small roadside cafeterias to serve motorists in their cars because parking problems are so acute. Outlets found violating the rule will be issued with warnings in addition to a maximum penalty of Dhs1,000.
