UAE Minister of Economy stresses on enhancing bilateral relations with Spain and Belgium

His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, received H.E. Alvarez Arsez, Governor of Astoria-Spain, accompanied by a high ranking delegation that included H.E. Manuel Peniero, Ambassador of Spain in the UAE.

The two sides discussed ways of improving bilateral relations, especially in the industry, services, communications, ports, ship building and environment protection sectors. They also shared ideas on ways to boost trade exchange and investments.

H.E Al Mansouri also received H.E. Vincent Van Kuikneporon, Belgium's Minister of Economic Development and H.E. Anik Van Kalster, Ambassador of Belgium in the UAE. The meeting discussed co-operation in Free Zones, small and medium businesses and real estate sectors. The impact of the global financial crisis was also discussed by the two teams.

Receiving the Spanish delegation, Al Mansouri stressed on the need to drive the recommendations proposed by both parties and build bilateral relations in various economic sectors. The two sides agreed to form a joint team to execute the agreements signed by the UAE and Spain. He highlighted the special relations shared by the UAE and Spain, particularly after His Majesty the King of Spain's visit to the UAE.

The two teams discussed cooperation in supporting small and medium businesses, real estate, research centers and how can the UAE benefit from Astoria's expertise in research and development.
