The world ranking tournament began last Saturday and features many of the world's best players, including Stephen Hendry and Stephen Maguire.

Dominic Dale, last season's Roewe Shanghai Masters champion who scored a 5-3 victory over Marco Fu in his first match, said:

"It's great to have a leading brand in DHL associated with one of our tournaments, particularly in a new region where we are building the profile of snooker. All the players welcome DHL on board."

Andy Broughton, Country Commercial Manager of DHL Bahrain, said: "Snooker has a large following in the Middle East and we are aware of the great television figures the sport gets on Eurosport, so we are confident of the exposure we are getting through this deal with World Snooker. We're very pleased to be involved with this very exciting and popular sport."

The 2008 Bahrain Snooker Championship is being held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre from the 8th - 15th November.
