The public will be able to view live demonstrations on how to correctly install and buckle up child seats during this Roadshow, which will proceed on to the new Dubai Mall from the 23rd to the 30th of November.

The Safe Kids Buckle Up programme was launched in the UAE earlier this month by Chevrolet/General Motors and Safe Kids Worldwide with the support of UAE National Transport Authority and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

It promotes the proper restraint of children in cars through specially designed child seats with the aim to prevent children from being injured or killed in and around vehicles.

"The objective of the Safe Kids Buckle Up programme is to raise awareness and understanding of the issues surrounding child passenger safety in the UAE, to prevent children from being injured and killed in and around vehicles. In particular, it will focus on encouraging the use of child car seats, educating parents on the dangers of leaving children unrestrained in cars and advocating for quality child safety seats."
Said Saada Hammad, General Motors's Middle East Regional PR & Communications Manager.

Furthermore, a major advertising campaign, built around the theme "If you really want to hold onto them, let them go and strap them in", is already taking place on UAE's television screens, newspaper and magazine pages, in on-line media and at outdoor sites starting of November 7th.

This new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is part of General Motors and Chevrolets' commitment towards the local community, which received them over 70 years ago.
