Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Jordan win big at eighth International Hospitality Forum

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea and Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba picked up seven medals and nine medals respectively in the culinary art show at the event.

Of the total medal count, gold medals went to chef Mohamed Sobhi from Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea for his elaborate three-tiered wedding cake and chef Ajith Prryanth who took home two gold medals in the live fruit carving and live ice-carving competition as well as a silver for his chocolate centaur masterpiece.

Mohamed Alqam from Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba was awarded three silver medals for his canapés, live cooking from the basket and for the best hygiene while Mahmouad Hasanat also of Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba wowed the judges with his oriental banquet main course. Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba chef Khalead Tobeh impressed them with his three-course set dinner menu. Both chefs took home silver medals for their efforts.

"To win not one but 16 medals at a single event is incredible" said general manager and regional manager Jordan Bruno Huber. "The chefs have put in an incredible amount of time honing their skills and the results are justly deserved"

Deemed to be the most important national annual meeting place for the hospitality and foodservice industries the International Hospitality Forum in Amman sees more than 100 companies showcasing their latest products and services. The culinary art show is an established and much respected event held during the forum with more than 100 talented chefs competing in 16 food categories.
