- PRESS RELEASE
A group of employees from Barclays Wealth, a leading global wealth management institution, joined hands to volunteer at a fund raising bazaar held at the Sheraton Hotel Deira, to raise awareness for the Special Needs Families Centre(SNF).
"We are privileged to contribute to the honourable mission of the Special Needs Families Centre, a highly commendable organization that is dedicated to truly bringing a positive change in the lives it touches, and committed to helping people play a fuller role in the communities in which they live and work", explained Soha Nashaat, Managing Director of Barclays Wealth.
"At Barclays Wealth we are committed to supporting and working in partnership with great initiatives such as SNF. We are very proud to offer these buses with the aim of facilitating the centre's daily operations and encouraging the management and the volunteers to continue their admirable work," continued Nashaat.
Safia Bari, Director of SNF Children Development Center, said; "We are very grateful to the Barclays Wealth team for supporting us and generously donating two buses to our centre. It is also wonderful to see members of their team here today helping us make this day an enjoyable and unforgettable occasion, especially for the children. It is generous donations such as the two buses, that were offered by Barclays Wealth, that help us to continue the work that we do,"
In 2007, Barclays Wealth's global commitment to support charities and work within communities was further enhanced by introducing "Make a Difference Day". This initiative is run by Community Service Volunteers (CSV) and encourages employees to donate their time to make a positive difference in their local community.
Last year, 16'000 Barclays' colleagues from 26 countries gave their time and skills to more than 1'100 different projects around the world.
