Riyada Ventures Chairman named New Member of World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council

Members of the Council have recently met for the inaugural summit which was held in Dubai on 7-9 November, 2008.

The World Economic Forum leveraged its access to the very best of the world's thought leaders to form global agenda councils on the foremost topics in the global arena that represent transformational innovation in global governance for the purpose of advancing knowledge, as well as collaboratively developing solutions for the most crucial issues on the global agenda.

Mr. Tabaza was elected amongst the world's leading experts in a bid to attain his very best knowledge on entrepreneurship and integrate it into global collaboration and decision-making processes.

Entrepreneurship is considered the key driving force behind economic growth and innovation; nevertheless, it can only succeed if operated in an environment that supports and rewards risk-taking.

Commenting on his election, Mr. Tabaza said,

During the three-day summit that was held in the economic capital of the United Arab Emirates, 700 participants engaged in interactive workshops and sessions that addressed critical topics on the role of entrepreneurship in driving significant positive development and progress in social, economic and political contexts.

In 2006, Chairman and Managing Director of Riyada Ventures, Khaldoon Tabaza, was selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader.

Mr. Tabaza is also founding board member of the Arab Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and board member of Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Challenge, in addition to holding other global and regional industry and advisory board positions.
