The forum, under one ceiling and through a one-stop station, gathers leading developers and main players in the industry, financial institutions, businessmen, investors, real estate researchers and stakeholders.
"Qatar Property Investment Forum - Estate Qatar 2008" attracts the industry's leading real estate professionals, leaders and government officials, in particular Mr. Abdulla Bin Khalid Al Qhatani, Deputy Under-Secretary, Ministry of Business and Trade.
Barwa was represented by Dr. Yousif Al Horr, President of Strategy and Investment. Mr. Al-Horr delivered a speech on which he addressed the international and local challenges facing the real estate industry, especially the global financial crunch.
He also elaborated on Barwa's vision and its keenness to make its motto "For the Future of Qatar" a reality.
Furthermore, he stressed on Barwa's commitment to its legacy and its devotion to engineer innovative housing solutions that cater for the needs of local communities as a whole.
"Estate Qatar - 2008 provides an outstanding platform for stakeholders, including developers, contractors, investors or financiers to come together and communicate. Besides, we as an official representative of the Qatari Government, aspire, in addition to mainly performing our role as a regulator and legislative authority, to being a supportive instrument that encourages this pivotal economic sector. These aspirations would become true only through providing an attractive healthy economic and business environment and removing all obstacles that may face the related parties in such a manner that allows all stakeholders to do their roles to the best of their abilities and aspirations,"
said Mr. Abdulla Bin Fahid Al Qhatani.
"The real estate sector is one of the fastest growing economic sectors in Qatar and the region. We aspire that this sector will continue to generate satisfactory revenues for the National Gross Domestic Product from all parties engaged in the real estate value chain, including developers, financiers and investors," added Mr. Al Qhatani.
Dr. Yousif Al Horr said: "The real driver behind BARWA's sponsorship is our strong belief in the necessity of creating a rich investment environment that blends together state of the art real estate technologies with our local culture. Through this methodology, we can develop high profile mega projects that do not create or invest only in high structures, but also invest in citizens and the local communities in which they belong. Such a strategy will earmark the beginning of a new era in Qatar's history and I trust that this forum is a platform towards achieving this goal."
