In order to simplify navigation and search and to enable the user to get the best search results, the 'Search by Click' service groups content on the basis of the most popular keywords and displays them in suitable categories.
The lists are updated automatically according to the popularity of the keyword; the more popular a keyword, the higher it appears in its category. Each category contains a number of sub-categories arranged alphabetically, and a help box is featured in the results page in order to provide the user further search options.
Isam Bayazidi, Chief Product Officer at Maktoob.com, said:
"The launch of 'Search by Click' marks a significant step in our efforts to enhance the user-friendliness of Araby.com, and adds vitality and freshness to the Araby interface. This unique service dramatically transforms the search experience by making the search process quicker and allowing users to get the most relevant results for their queries."
"While earlier the user had to specify and type the query in such a manner as to return the best results, with the 'Search by Click' service, the most relevant results are pre-arranged in specific categories and all the user has to do is click on the appropriate query," Bayazidi added.
The 'Search by Click' service offers the advanced auto-complete feature, which eliminates the need to type out the search query by replacing the typing with a mere click on relevant search options that appear in a drop-down menu. The user is given six of the most popular search options upon typing the first two letters of the query, and the query completes by itself once the appropriate option is clicked.
The unveiling of the 'Search by Click' service coincides with the second anniversary of Araby.com's launch. In the two years since its formation in September 2006, Araby.com has continually improved its interface by adding more specifications and features designed to enhance the search experience and satisfy user requirements.
"Araby.com is committed to creating value for its users by constantly adding new services and bringing significant improvements to existing offerings to make the search process more easy and effective," Bayazidi concluded.
