As the Official Car of the EUR500,000 Ladies European Tour event, AGMC -- the exclusive importer for BMW Group products in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates -- will provide transportation for this year's field, which is spearheaded by defending champion Annika Sorenstam.

Stathis Stathis, General Manager, AGMC, said:
"Our sponsorship of this prestigious Ladies European Tour event, for the third consecutive year, speaks volumes of our regional and international commitment to the sport of golf."

For many years BMW has been associated with sporting ambition and success. Just like its premium-sector products, the company sets high standards in its golfing activities, both as a tournament organiser and as an avid supporter of the game.

BMW also sponsors the prestigious BMW Golf Cup International, the world's leading amateur golf tournament. On the domestic scene, BMW has become synonymous with golf for being sponsors of the Monthly Medal events at numerous clubs around the UAE, including the Emirates Golf Club, the Montgomerie Dubai, the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club and the Tower Links Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah.

"Whether on the golf course or on the road, BMW ensures that its dynamism and performance are reflected in the world-class events it supports," stated Stathis.

"Our association with golf in Dubai - the promoters and organizers of the Dubai Ladies Masters -- demonstrates our support to the sporting community in the UAE," he added.

Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice-chairman and CEO of golf in Dubai, said:
"We have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with BMW and we're delighted to see them back among our loyal family of partners."

Buamaim continued, "Like BMW, the Dubai Ladies Masters continues to mature into one of the country's most trusted and respected brands. Their support is vital in our drive to promote and organise this world-class event."

The Dubai Ladies Masters this year takes on added significance as it marks the last competitive event for Sorenstam, who has already announced her retirement from the game she has dominated for upwards of 15 years.

'golf in Dubai' is backed by Dubal (Dubai Aluminum Company) as the Main Sponsor and BMW, CNN, Emaar, Emirates Airline, Emirates NBD, Gulf News, Jumeirah Group, Leisure Corp., MasterCard and OMEGA as partners in its drive to showcase the emirate's vibrant golfing scene to a worldwide audience.
