The launch event was attended by people from all age groups and animated by Sam Sam, known as the bubbleman, the world famous record breaker of bubbles. In addition to the new edition, the world-renowned brand that challenges ordinary people to stretch the boundaries of human achievement has also launched the search for the tallest man in each Arabic country.
There were a number of school invitees at the launch event, which included students and teachers, and they were all thriving to explore the wonderful and unique world of Guinness World Records. Samsam signed the new edition of the book followed by an amazing performance of bubble making. 'it's definitely a pleasure to be in Lebanon and to be participating in the launch of Guinness World Records Arabic Edition, which is a book that I cherish a lot, being myself a record breaker,' stated Samsam. 'I hope that there will be in the region as much record breakers as possible in order to incite generations to achieve great accomplishments and explore their potentials to the maximum,' he added.
Myriam Hoballah, MENA Regional Product Manager, GWR, insisted on the interest that the edition acquired in the region, 'GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS has no boundaries nor limits through reaching all people of different colors and nationalities. Once again, our 2009 Arabic edition celebrates major record achievements from the Arab world, including the world's largest breast cancer made of flowers, the most seafood produced at an outdoor event, the largest restaurant, and many others, which all took place in the region.'
'We know that these records are only the tip of the iceberg of the Middle East's potential, and we want to delve into what more the region has to offer. For that reason, we've
launched the search for the tallest man, in each country in the Arab region,' concluded Myriam.
With the new 2009 edition, GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS continues to build on the intriguing, informative, inspiring and instructional records and superlatives that have made GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS one of the most famous brands and books world-wide. GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS 2009 will be available across the Middle East and North Africa from 7th November 2008 with new special features that include a pair of 3D glasses to view more than 20 3D photographs.
