'Taking into consideration that Samsung Electronics is only selling a separate monitor in overseas markets while other companies such as Dell and hp are selling desktop PCs bundled with monitors, there can be no doubt that Samsung is the absolute leader in the global monitor market,'
said Madhav Narayan, General Manager of the IT Division at Samsung Electronics.
Samsung has maintained its leading spot in the global monitor market since 2006. Once having only 13% Samsung now holds a higher market share of 16.0% than its biggest competitor Dell with 14.6%.
Furthermore, Samsung Electronics has been ranked number one in the global LCD monitor market, which accounts for 95% of the entire monitor market, for four consecutive quarters. With a market share of 16.0% Samsung was closely followed by Dell with 15.7%, hp with 10.8%, Acer with 9.5% and LG Electronics with 9.3%.
Building on this success, Samsung recently launched its newly-released Crystal Design Monitor series at Gitex 2008. Crystal Design Monitors maximise the natural colour effects of materials through product design instead of using artificial colours, allowing for the generation of different colours and appearance, depending on viewing angles and times.
'Crystal Design monitors are expected to make a big splash among design and performance-conscious consumers', said Narayan.' We are looking forward to increase our market share globally and locally as these new monitors will confirm Samsung position on the top of the list', Madhav added.
Crystal Design series deliver crisp, high definition images. Their super-fast response time of 5ms generates immaculate image clarity. Pinpoint precision is achieved and blurring effects are eliminated, creating a phenomenally powerful environment to enjoy fast action games, presented with dramatic, lifelike details. Sharper images with minimal motion lag make these LCD monitors ideal for any application.
