Minister of State for Finance and Industry and Sudanese Ambassador meet for discussion

The seminar will be held on the opening day of the forum under the theme, "Horizons and Future of Arab Investment in the Sudan" and will be chaired by Dr. Kharbash, one of several eminent personalities who will participate in the seminar.

The forum is being organized by the Sudanese Consulate General and the Sudanese Community Council under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry and on the occasion of the anniversary of Sudanese Independence.

During the meeting, Ambassador Shawer and Dr. Kharbash discussed the composition of the panel of speakers for the seminar on February 2. The speakers include Mr. Saeed bin Jabr Al Suwaidi, President of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and President of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ahmed Al Midfa, President of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Ahmed Saif Belhasa, President of Contractors Association, Mr. Al Sharif Ahmed Omar Badr, Sudanese Minister of Investment, Mr. Abdul Rahim Hamdi, former Sudanese Minister of Finance and National Economy, Mr. Ahmed Al Mansoori, Manager of Zayed Al Kheir Agricultural Project in Sudan and Mr.Ibrahim Belselah, General Coordinator of Dubai 2003.

Ambassador Shawer thanked Dr. Kharbash for agreeing to be chairman and moderator of the investment seminar and for his continued support to initiatives that helped boost relations between UAE and Sudan. The forthcoming event follows a successful visit to Sudan last year by a delegation of 70 businessmen from the UAE.

The Consulate General has invited businessmen in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and members of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry to participate in the seminar hosted by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to further enhance Sudan-UAE cooperation in areas of trade and investment.
