Students lectured on perils of dangerous driving

Students at The National Institute for Vocational Education (NIVE) have been given a lecture by Dubai Police as part of the police campaign to address the issue of dangerous driving.

The campaign is targeted at all motorists, and Captain Maher Bin Haider from Dubai Police Traffic Department, visited NIVE in Academic City to support the campaign.

He said,
"Road rage and hostile driving must be curbed to ensure the safety of motorists. The violation of traffic rules leads to road accidents and chaos. Drivers must act with responsibility, not just towards themselves but also towards others."


He outlined the three major causes of traffic violation. He said, "Traffic fines and the black points system work towards discouraging drivers from being careless on the roads.

Informative booklets with additional details on aspects of hostile driving were distributed to the students at NIVE during the lecture.

The students also received traffic tips and guidelines to ensure safety for all roads users.

The campaign ended today (November 16) and its aim was to create an awareness of road safety and reduce the patterns of dangerous driving in the region.
