Dnata backs future of UAE Hockey

Dnata, the largest, most innovative and most successful supplier of air travel services in the Middle East, has given its support to the future of hockey in the UAE by becoming an Official Partner of the UAE Hockey Committee.

Through this partnership, Dnata will be supporting all the activities organised by the UAE Hockey Committee, including qualifying matches to international tournaments around the world.

Ismail Ali Al Banna, Dnata's Executive Vice President, said:
"We are very excited about our partnership with the UAE Hockey Committee. Through our sponsorship we will be able to ensure a bright future for hockey here in the UAE. Our support will provide a foundation to build up the sport from the grass roots level through schools right up to our national team."


Khalid Esmail, Vice President of the UAE Hockey Committee, said, "With the support of Dnata we will be able to increase the profile of the sport of hockey here in the UAE. The substantial investment by Dnata will help us to encourage more children to take up the game, whilst supporting our national team and their international aspirations."

It is an exciting time for hockey in the region with Dubai being selected to host the 2009 Asia Cup, a qualifying event for the 2010 World Cup.
