HP placed in "Leaders" quadrant in Magic Quadrant report for Global Enterprise Desktop and Notebook PCs

HP today announced it has been placed in the "Leaders" quadrant in industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc.'s October 2008 "Magic Quadrant for Global Enterprise Desktop PCs" and "Magic Quadrant for Global Enterprise Notebook PCs" reports.

Designed to assist global enterprise customers in selecting providers to supply a large number of desktop PCs and notebooks in multiple regions, the Gartner Magic Quadrant positions vendors according to their "ability to execute" and their "completeness of vision."

According to Gartner, the Ability to Execute axis "evaluates vendors on the quality and efficiency of the processes, systems, methods or procedures that enable their performance to be competitive, efficient and effective, and to positively impact revenue, retention and reputation." The company also states that "global enterprise desktop PC and notebook providers are judged on their ability and success in capitalizing on their vision."

In evaluating HP on its completeness of vision, Gartner considered criteria such as HP's market understanding; market, sales and product strategies; as well as its level of innovation.

"We believe being placed in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for 'completeness of vision' and 'ability to execute' reflects HP's innovative prowess and ability to continually deliver world-class IT solutions that directly meet the specific needs of our customers,"

said Anil Kumar, General Manager, PSG, HP Middle East.

According to the reports, Gartner classifies Leaders as companies that "register the highest scores on Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. They have wider geographic coverage, comprehensive sales organizations, financial stability, comprehensive customer support, broader product portfolios, longer product availability and larger market presence."
