Passengers and crew flying newly-reconfigured Project Phoenix CRJ 12 to 19-passenger business aircraft will benefit from built-in access to life-saving MedAire medical solutions, following the signing of an agreement with MedAire Ltd. at the Middle East Business Aviation Show in Dubai, today, 16 November.

Project Phoenix will offer Phoenix CRJ owners a complimentary MedAire medical package, including a one year subscription that connects passengers and crew to doctors in MedAire's 24/7 MedLink Global Response Center.

In the event of an in-flight medical event, crewmembers can contact MedLink emergency care doctors via their satellite phone or radio.

Additionally, three CRJ crew members will receive first-responder medical training and will have access to an Aircraft First Aid Kit - both developed and delivered by MedAire's medical team - as well as access to an onboard automated external defibrillator.

"Because MedAire is the internationally renowned provider of medical solutions for business aviation," said Project Phoenix Vice President Commercial Andrew Johnston, "we are delighted to offer this value-added, superior safety addition onboard the CRJs. This will enhance the quality and peace of mind for our Phoenix CRJ customers."
The installation will be made during the interior fitting, carried out by Project Phoenix partners Peterborough, Toronto-based Flying Colours.

This coming January in Macau, the first Phoenix CRJ that is scheduled for delivery to leading Asian business charter operator, Jet Asia, will feature a standard MedAire package.

"Since 1989, MedAire has provided premier medical solutions to aircraft manufacturers around the world," said Richard J. Moore, managing director of MedAire Ltd. "We are very pleased to add another independent cooperation with Project Phoenix, which will provide the industry's best health and safety coverage to anyone traveling on a Phoenix CRJ.."

Owners and air crew will also have the opportunity to buy additional medical offerings from MedAire, such as the Emergency Medical Kit and Pediatric Kit (both with prescription medications).

MedAire, an International SOS company, provides a life-saving, integrated solution of remote medical expertise, education, and equipment for travelers in the aviation and maritime industries. Since 1986, the company has prepared its clients with knowledge, confidence, and the right resources and advice to handle remote medical situations. Using 22 years of medical incident data, MedAire continuously develops up-to-date and internationally-compliant products and services to meet the unique needs of the remote traveler.

MedAire offers 24/7 direct telephone access to emergency care doctors, medical training, medical kits and defibrillators.

Project Phoenix announced the launch of the Phoenix CRJ VIP conversion program at the Dubai Air Show in November last year. It was launched to address two significant challenges facing the business aviation sector today - rapidly escalating prices and increasingly long lead times.

The program has been conceived, with the assistance and support of several former senior Bombardier executives who make up Project Phoenix, to offer buyers of large executive aircraft a viable and cost-effective alternative to new business aircraft models in the 2,200 - 3,000 n.m range - for which new customers are having to wait for up to five years for a delivery slot.
