Dubai Land Transport Representative Committee elects Chairman at inaugural meeting

The representative committee of the Land Transport Business Group elected Ali Bin Beyat, Managing Director of Allied Transport Est. to be its Chairman last week at a meeting held at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters.

Khalid Mubarak Al Jafla, the general manager of Mubarak & Sons Transport Co., was elected Vice-Chairman, and Carlos Al Hashim, General Manager of Joaan General Transporting Co., was made Secretary General.

The Dubai Land Transport Business Group was created with the legal backing of DCCI in October last year. In December the group elected a 8-strong representative committee.

The inaugural committee meeting was also attended Mr Ahmed Al Banna, Assistant Director General for Studies and International Affairs at DCCI.

Another meeting of the group's representative committee is scheduled next month. Committee members will be discussing common objective and concerns, in addition to working methods and regulations; before devising a suitable business plan.
