Union of Arab Banks conduct a workshop on 'The Challenges of Implementing Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 of Basel II Accord'

The Central Bank of Bahrain 'CBB' will play host to a workshop entitled 'The Challenges of Implementing Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 of Basel II Accord' which will take place at the Bahrain Institute for Banking & Finance (BIBF) from 24-26 November 2008.

The workshop, organized by the Union of Arab Banks in coordination with the CBB, is a specialized banking workshop which aims to provide the participants, involved in financial risk management, the requirements, knowledge and culture of the challenges arising from implementing Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 of Basel II Accord and ways to face them.

The program also includes the bank's responsibility in capital evaluation, and the requirements in implementing the Stress Test.

The workshop will be conducted by the Lebanese Expert Mr. Fadi Fakih - Head of Market and Operational Risk Department at Bank of Beirut and the Arab Countries BBAC (one of the largest Lebanese banks, and Risk management Professor at the Lebanese American University LAU-Beirut, and Mr. Jaafar Al Omran, Assistant Vice President, Credit Risk management at Al Baraka Banking Group - Bahrain.
