The leading property developer in the Downtown Jebel Ali area has tapped LEED experts Ramboll Whitbybird, one of the leading engineering design firms in the world, to ensure Schön Properties' compliance with LEED standards and make sustainability features a key element of upcoming developments.

Sonia H. Schön, Executive Director, Schön Properties, said:
"This is significant step in our efforts to constantly benchmark ourselves against emerging global trends in property development, and to align ourselves with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, for Dubai to become a world-class city that offers not only the best lifestyle choices, but maintains sustainable environments and eco-friendly communities as well."

"To ensure we adopt recognized best practices, we have decided to utilise the expertise of Ramboll Whitbybird, whose reputation and experience is globally recognized," she added.

Ramboll Whitbybird, part of the Ramboll group, is a leading firm of engineers recognized for their creativity and professional expertise in engineering design. Its portfolio of work includes some award-winning projects across the globe, carried out by its network of 150 offices worldwide.

"The company has a long tradition of promoting pioneering sustainable practice in the built environment and we are constantly at the forefront of discovering new technologies for better sustainability and energy efficiency. We are delighted to be working with Schön Properties, who has shown in great measure its passion for innovation and excellence with its landmark properties in Downtown Jebel Ali," said Heath Andersen, Director of Sustainability and Renewables for Ramboll Whitbybird.

"With Ramboll Whitbybird's expertise and experience, we are confident about meeting the required standards and offering innovative solutions for sustainability, energy efficiency and environment friendliness that has been the hallmark of their practice for the last 25 years," added Sonia Schön.
