Within a year of opening its doors, The Monarch Dubai's Health Club Manager Devon Graham was named Fitness Instructor of the Year of the year and Procurement Manager Soney Mathew is the Middle East's Procurement Person of the Year for the second time in his career.

"This is a very impressive result and I couldn't be prouder," said General Manager Henning Fries. "All of our team members deserve to be recognised after the year we've had, but to be recognised not once but twice by what is in essence the industry regulator, is something the entire hotel and its associates can be proud of. Both Soney and Devon have dedicated themselves to the hotel over the last year and this week they were recognised by the industry as a whole."

From the mops and high end bed sheets through to the food and beverage, as Procurement Manager for The Monarch Dubai, Mathew has been responsible for the selection and procurement of every item in the hotel in the lead up to its launch.

"This was the reason I joined The Monarch Dubai," Mathew said. "The challenge of fitting out an entire hotel, from start to finish, in preparation of its launch was something I had to tackle and I'm honoured to be recognised for what we achieved."

The Monarch Dubai's newly opened health club, Quantum, and its manager Devon Graham provide an executive fitness and wellbeing facility aimed at creating a balance in people's hectic lives and bringing a healthy lifestyle to its guests.

Judges at the event made special mention of Graham, saying that although it hasn't been open a year, Quantum has become a benchmark for the industry with Graham's dedication and unique concept being the key to its success.

"This is my true passion and Quantum is something I really believe in, so to be honoured with this award is a great achievement for the entire Quantum Team," Graham said. "We are different in that we're offering a totally personalised service focusing on enhancing the wellbeing of our guests and members. We work together with the client, as a team, to achieve the goals we've set out on their very first visit."

These awards follow The Monarch Dubai's win at the recent World Travel Awards, were it was named as the Middle East's leading new business hotel and its exclusive Monarch Suite named as the Middle East's leading suite.
