Dr. Al Othman commented on this occasion:
"University aims to seek leadership in research and innovation and create an atmosphere of excitement, competition and intellectual partnership and contribute to the preparation of future leaders in various fields, satisfying educational needs of society and development of high-quality academic programs."
"Through collaboration with Intel we are utilising a long experience of this company and provide access to global best practices in the field of technical education and the integration of access to future technology trends," Dr. Al Othman added.
"The Arab World is developing rapidly and its imperative that both teachers and students have the tools for developing skills needed in the 21st century. Intel has been actively involved in education for forty years, we believe that students at all levels everywhere, deserve the chance to develop the skills to become innovators. From local schools to global universities, Intel works to improve the quality of education around the world," said Swope.
The agreement includes that Intel to be a consultant for the University (in technical and educational fields), where Intel to provide consulting in the field of networking and e-learning (Online Community) and global training programs in professional development for students at the Teachers College by providing basic skills of computer automation and integration of technical education such as "Intel Teach." Intel will also develop training content in Arabic on the use of computer (PC Basics) to promote a culture of awareness among staff of the university (students, faculty and staff), as a contribution to support the University's efforts to bridge the digital gap.
It was also agreed to provide a laboratory for the development of school curricula in computer technology for multi-core processors (Multi core lab) and training a group of faculty members to use the lab. In addition to working with the technical team of the university, to brief them on future directions of processors technology and provide samples of the latest technologies developed by Intel for use at the university.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Ziad Al Hugail on the assured of the importance of this agreement and the expected role in the development of the educational process and benefit from Intel's experience in the educational field.
Adding to the above, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed A Ohali, Dean of Electronic and Communications Relation, said "the agreement would have a big affect in residing international technical expertise to the university and benefit from international corporation's latest innovations such as Intel Corporation."
From his side, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Nogaither, highlighted that: "We are delighted to crown our relationship with KSU with this MoU."
"The establishment of laboratory and technical multi-core processors is a very important step by providing access to the latest information of the processors industry to our dear students," He added.
