With the infrastructure and construction already underway, the business park facility has understandably been attracting interest from a series of international companies with Thales, the world leader in mission-critical information systems for the aerospace, defence and security markets, being the latest company to commit to setting up operations there.

"When situated adjacent to an airport with all the advantages of the connectivity and express shipment facilities, the Business Park model is one that is attractive to many companies and organisations."
said Al Mulla.

"In addition to its obvious convenience through its proximity to the airport apron, Abu Dhabi International Airport is well placed for ease of access to the two major cities in the UAE - only 30 minutes from the new Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi, and 45 minutes from Jebel Ali, Dubai."

Other benefits that have proven attractive to potential business park companies include the long-term leasing of offices, land and access to other key amenities and services.

Also operated by ADAC, Abu Dhabi's secondary airport, Al Ain International, is enjoying growth and in 2008 has seen the establishment of two freight companies operating from this hub.

Al Ain's strategic location, situated as it is equidistant from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai means that it offers a quick and efficient alternative to accessing the UAE's main commercial and administrative cities.
