  • Yemen: Wednesday, November 19 - 2008 at 09:35

Yemen has implemented a nationwide anti-polio campaign to immunise more than 4 million children under five years of age. The campaign, which is being conducted house to house, will be the last one as Yemen will be announced as a polio-free country by 2009, officials and organisers of the campaign said. The three-day campaign, which was funded and supported by the UNICEF and WHO, will be carried out by some 40,000 health workers, reported Gulf News.
