The new large state limousine from Mercedes-Benz, S600 Pullman Guard, is the first ever serial produced armoured S-Class limousine, launched in line with the 80th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz special-protection unit- Mercedes-Benz Guard. Featuring factory-integrated special protection for comprehensive safety, the new Pullman limousine is powered by a superbly smooth twelve-cylinder biturbo engine with a displacement of 5513 cubic centimetres and an output of 380 kW/517 hp with an impressive 830 Nm of torque. Its Highest Protection status means that it has been engineered to resistance level B6/B7, and its armour resists military-standard small-arms projectiles and provides protection against fragments from hand grenades and other explosive charges.
The second highlight of the show is the GLK-Class, the newest addition to the German automaker's line up of quality vehicles in a bid to respond to the growing demands of the SUV market. Brimming with genuine character, the Mercedes-Benz GLK is set to take the world of compact SUVs by storm. Superlative performance comes courtesy of the powerful yet economical engines. The GLK goes on sale with a choice of 4MATIC models including two V6 petrol engines (GLK 280 4MATIC and GLK 350 4MATIC). The GLK 280 has 231 horsepower, with a 3.0L engine and an acceleration of 0 to 100km/hr in 7.6 seconds. The GLK 350 has 272 horsepower and 3.5L engine with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/hr in 6.7 seconds; the vehicles have a top Speed of 210 Km/hr.
The SL65 AMG is also a new edition to the ever-growing Mercedes-Benz family owing to its new 2009 facelifted look. With a 12-cylinder AMG biturbo engine, an output of 450 kW/612 hp and a maximum torque of 1000 Nm, the new SL 65 AMG is the world's most powerful and highest-torque series-produced roadster. The open-top two-seater not only maintains Mercedes-AMG's impressive V12 tradition, it also offers a level of performance previously unheard of in this engine size class: the SL 65 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and passes the 200 km/h mark after just 12.9 seconds; its top speed is 250 km/h (electronically governed).
Wassim Derbi, Marketing Manager of Gargash Enterprises, stated:
"We are delighted to be showcasing such an array of Mercedes-Benz vehicles at the International Automobile Show in Sharjah this year. Such a prestigious event provides the prefect opportunity for us to exhibit, and the new models we have lined up are sure to impress - especially the S600 Pullman - although all models displayed have been carefully selected to reflect the great Mercedes-Benz name. Not only are passenger vehicles being exhibited, but commercial vehicles too, such as the Sprinter, Viano and Actros, as they also play a significant role within the automobile industry."
With sales expected to increase by a staggering 20% during the show this year as compared with 2006, Gargash's presence in Sharjah is strongly reflected by the impending new workshop opening and the popular luxurious showroom in an emirate that contributes a large percentage of the total sales for the general distributor.
