Mapei is launching its new range into a market where iconic projects led by developers such as Nakheel, Emaar, Al-Futtaim Group, Sorouh and Aldar have pushed up regional construction activity to an all-time high. IBS-Mapei Business Development Manager, Laith Haboubi, believes the new range can have a significant impact across the sector.
Mapei operate in the UAE through Dubai-based local subsidiary Innovative Building Solutions (IBS) by MAPEI.
Mr. Haboubi said:
"This new range of products and technical developments can be the catalysts to help the regional sector as a whole move to the next level. They can impact not only on the overall cost of projects but also significantly extend the number of options open to architects, developers, contractors and, at the end of the day, the choice available to buyers and investors. The products allow more options for finishing items such as ceramic, marble and natural stone to be adhered to the different substrates now being used in construction such as precast concrete, gypsum board and plywood. More importantly, the applications can be completed in record time, and in an environmentally responsible manner."
"The Big Five offers the ideal opportunity to showcase these products. They push back the traditional construction boundaries, and are ideal for many of the projects in the region. In addition to hundreds of prestigious projects around the world such as the Guggenheim Museums in New York & Venice, La Scala Opera House in Milan and the Petronas Towers in KL, many local projects have utilised Mapei's technology such as Atlantis Hotel, The Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Airport terminals 1 & 3, and currently Burj Dubai and Dubai Metro. The regional industry and its leaders will be at the show and we will be there to share our experience and 'next generation' range of products with them,"he added
Together with its high performance products and eco-friendly technology introduction, Mapei also intends to use the opportunity provided by the show to extend its distribution network and extend its footprint in the region. Mr. Haboubi said, "The region's construction industry has reached a crucial stage in its development. Maturity of the market as evidenced elsewhere in the world, only increases demand for products that save time and money. We have an important role to "contribute in ensuring the industry has the right products and that these are made available through an effective and efficient distribution network. This is part of our mission and one of the main reasons why we will have a prominent presence throughout Big Five Week."
Mapei technical experts will be available at its stand, in hall number 7 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, to discuss customers problems and offer leading edge solutions in application areas such as ceramic & stone installation, concrete admixtures, building restoration, waterproofing, etc.
The Big 5 Exhibition Week is the Middle East's largest and most successful trade exhibition and one of the world's major construction shows. The 2008 edition runs from November 23 to 27 and more than 3,300 exhibitors from 79 countries and 100,000 are expected to attend.
