E-Vision says 'Swagatam' to its audiences with addition of new programs from Symphony TV on e-Masala

E-Vision, the cable TV arm of Etisalat announced an agreement with Symphony TV whereby Symphony TV would provide four hours of the best in Malayalam content to the e-Masala channel.

The signing ceremony was presided over by the Consul General of India Mr. Venu Rajamony and was attended by Mr. Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision, Dr. Alexander ,IAS, Chairman, Symphony TV, Mr. Krishna Kumar, MD & CEO, Symphony TV and Ms. Latifa Fekri, Director, Product Marketing, E-Vision.

From 15th of November E-Vision increased the broadcast time for e-Masala from 8 hours a day to 12 hours a day and has ambitious plans to expand the content base and programming hours of e-Masala channel to 24 hours from January 2009 with the aim of making it the most comprehensive gateway for all Indian language entertainment on the E-Vision network.

Symphony TV is Kerala's first Multi Channel and Multi programme production house and the production house will provide several popular shows such as Melody, an award-winning music show, chat shows and series to the e-Masala channel.

The e-Masala Channel from E-Vision currently provides 12 hours of the best movies across Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi to the expatriate community in the UAE.

Presiding over the signing ceremony, Mr.Venu Rajamony stated that this will be a strategic step to enhance Indo Arab cultural exchange and enhance the cultural ties between India and UAE.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sahoo said,

'We are extremely pleased to partner with Symphony TV and provide a more comprehensive and better entertainment experience to our valued customers.'



He added,

'The content from Symphony TV is a great fit for the e-Masala channel and is in line with our objective of expanding the programming hours of the e-Masala channel in addition to increasing the diversity of content. Our single- minded objective is to truly create an outstanding entertainment experience for our customers.'



Dr. J. Alexander also added: 'Symphony TV will offer a bouquet of programs which will truly reflect the taste and pulse of the Gulf Malayalees'.

The Managing Director of Symphony TV, Mr. Kumar explained that they focus on a balanced mix of Malayalam programs in which over fifty percent will be Gulf- based and Gulf- related Malayalam programs created in UAE itself.

A message from Mr. T.K.A Nair, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, was also read out during the ceremony stating: 'The tie-up between Symphony and E-Vision, will be immensely pleasing to the viewers of TV channels, enhance people to people contacts, cultural exchange and mutually beneficial business cooperation'.

E-Vision is the leading regional source to offer over 250 TV channels, in 21 different languages, ranging from sports to movies, from documentaries to music and kid's channels.

E-Vision's product line-up includes 15 premium packages from all the major TV providers like Showtime, Orbit, ART, Pehla, Firstnet, TFC, Pinoy Plus and many more, in addition to the E-Vision Basic package.
