Dubai International Academy welcomes IB experts

The visiting delegation, which included several members of the IB Board, was given a warm welcome by officials and students of DIA. They were received by Mr. Avi Bhojani, Managing Director, DIA and Mr. Hamdi Osman, Founder Partner and Board Director of DIA, together with the School Leadership Team. Students led the IB officials on a tour of the school, after which they were treated to a musical performance by the students. The international education experts arrived in the UAE to participate in their governance meeting and attend the IB community dinner in Dubai.

DIA, located at Emirates Hills, is an 'IB World School' and is the first school in the UAE to have been authorised by the IB for the continuum of the full IB curriculum, the Diploma Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme.

During their visit to DIA, the IB team was given an overview of the curricular and extra-curricular activities offered by the school, which has a student body of over 1,695 students from 73 different nationalities plus over 200 staff members from 23 different nationalities. They also toured some of the world-class facilities at the school, which includes over 80 classrooms and specialist rooms for music, art, dance, drama and language learning, well-equipped science and computer labs, networked libraries, climate controlled multi-purpose halls for a wide range of sports, swimming pools, playing fields, basketball and shaded tennis courts.
