Dubai International Academy welcomes IB experts

A group of senior delegates of the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate (IB) led by its Director-General, Mr. Jeffrey Beard, visited Dubai International Academy (DIA) on 20 November, as part of their tour of educational facilities and institutions in the UAE.
DIA, located at Emirates Hills, is an 'IB World School' and is the first school in the UAE to have been authorised by the IB for the continuum of the full IB curriculum, the Diploma Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme.
During their visit to DIA, the IB team was given an overview of the curricular and extra-curricular activities offered by the school, which has a student body of over 1,695 students from 73 different nationalities plus over 200 staff members from 23 different nationalities. They also toured some of the world-class facilities at the school, which includes over 80 classrooms and specialist rooms for music, art, dance, drama and language learning, well-equipped science and computer labs, networked libraries, climate controlled multi-purpose halls for a wide range of sports, swimming pools, playing fields, basketball and shaded tennis courts.
