The winners were judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts, selected from within the regional aviation industry and were chosen for consistently delivering world-class services during the past 12 months, as well as their growth, outstanding performance levels, and reliability.
Ismail Ali Albanna, Executive Vice President, Dnata, said:
"It is an incredible achievement for Dnata to win these awards, particularly when we have been operating in such a difficult environment. The expansion of the airport to include Terminal 3 is a terrific development for Dubai, but it did mean a difficult operating environment for Dnata during its construction. The fact that we have been recognised for our high standards of passenger service and ground handling operations during this period is a tremendous achievement for our dedicated and hardworking staff. As Dnata moves into its 50th year of operations, it makes me extremely proud that we are still able to achieve new heights in terms of excellent service and quality operations. I would like to pay tribute to my incredibly committed and industrious staff, without whom we would not be receiving these awards. I am particularly pleased that we have been selected as the Ground Handling Operator of the Year for the second year running as that shows our consistency of service levels and our determination not to rest on our laurels, but to continue striving for excellence."
Organised by ITP Business Publishing, the lavish awards ceremony took place at Le Royal Meridien, Abu Dhabi, and gathered more than 200 of the region's leading aviation professionals, as well as representatives from other key areas of the industry.
Sixteen awards were presented at the ceremony in categories that encompassed a different facet of aviation, from in-flight and duty-free services to passenger handling, security, leasing and finance.
