- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, November 23 - 2008 at 16:39
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Industrial City, a member of Tatweer Dubai, today announced it is showcasing its diverse line up of industrial offerings, worth more than Dhs5bn, at the Big 5 Show, the largest annual exhibition for the Middle East construction and contracting industry that opened today in Dubai.
Rashed Al Ansari, Vice President of Dubai Industrial City, said: "In our presence at this year's Big 5 Show, we are displaying a wide range of offerings that are taking shape across the township and exclusively designed to support industrial investors. The UAE faces a paucity of warehouses, open storage yards, labour accommodations and offices, and we are fully geared to suitably match the requirements of companies and meet the market's increasing demand with our spectrum of state-of-the-art facilities.
"Currently, we have over 1.5 million square feet of warehouse space that has already been leased out by companies. Another 1.5 million sq. ft. of storage space is currently being built. This is in addition to the five labour cities that we have developed, each accommodating 12,500 labourers and supervisors and featuring added service facilities such as cafeterias, shops, medical care units, postal offices, and playgrounds. Each city comprises 26 residential buildings that will be operational during the first quarter of 2009."
Dubai Industrial City is targeting construction, equipment and automobile companies for leasing over 2.8 million square feet of open storage yards. Furthermore, its range of premium office spaces is ideally equipped to cater to companies that seek additional retail commercial space.
Al Ansari added: "Complementing our relentless endeavour to meet the diverse needs of companies, we have achieved tremendous success in fully leasing out our existing warehouse offerings, while registering an unprecedented demand for our unique components such as labour villages and open storage yards."
Since the opening of the first two factories at the destination by Conmix for pre-mix plaster and chemicals, Dubai Industrial City has marked significant growth in 2008 with over 19 factories currently taking shape at the industrial hub.
"We are talking about investments of more than Dhs650m and growing by the day as the number of companies building their factories in our entity is estimated to reach more than 500 units by the end of 2015," Al Ansari pointed out.
The 560 million square feet dedicated industrial destination comprises six clusters featuring food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment.
Complimentary facilities for logistics, warehousing, labour villages, industrial training, in addition to commercial, residential and entertainment zones, position Dubai Industrial City as a comprehensive one stop-shop destination that also provides customers with a critical competitive advantage in human resources, logistics and business operations.
