Abu Dhabi Airport receives two key industry awards

Abu Dhabi International Airport has scooped two prestigious awards at the Aviation Business Awards, held at the Le Royal Meridien hotel in Abu Dhabi last week.

ADAC took the awards for Best Airport Security Provider and Duty Free of the Year.

VP of non-aeronautical revenue, Daniel Cappell who accepted the award for Duty Free of the year said:
"The judges have commended the staff for the customer service and consistent high standards. I accept this award on their behalf and thank our people for their hard work. When terminal three opens, we will have a great retail offer to impress the judges with next year."


ADAC was also awarded the Security Provider of the year award.

The judges being impressed with the level of planning and very consistent high level of delivery.

Accepting the awards on behalf of ADAC, Ahmad Haddabi, VP Safety and Security said:
"I have accepted the award on behalf of all those who work hard to keep our airports secure. Particular thanks must go to the Abu Dhabi Ports and Airport Police, whose hard work, dedication and commitment to aviation security have enabled us to win."


"Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen."

ADAC was also nominated for the Airport of the Year Award and shortlisted in the Passenger Handling of the Year category.

The awards were chosen by a panel of judges who are all senior leaders in the aviation and professional industries in the Middle East.

The awards add to ADAC's prosperous trophy cabinet.

Other awards the company has won over the last two years include: Best Airport in Africa and the Middle East and Regional Airport People Award at the ACI awards in 2007; Best Provider of Security Services in the Middle East by ITP Business Publishing 2007 and the top award for Baggage Reclaim from independent aviation research company SkyTrax in 2008.
