Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Majed, Vice Chairman of Tanmiyat Group, said:
"The relevance of any show comes from the importance of the market in which it is organized. The Organizer of Cityscape India 2008 expects the participation of more than 7,000 top international property investors, and the show is expected to attract over 350,000 influential decision makers, who will be looking for the best investment real estate opportunities in a country that has one of the world's highest growth rates."
Al Majed reviewed a number of facts, sketching the picture of the Indian real estate market's present and future. He said that the size of the market is currently $16bn, but can reach $60bn by 2010. India has a population of 1.2 billion, of which 28% is living in unsuitable areas. Concerned bodies are trying to tackle the phenomenon through the re-planning of these areas to provide suitable accommodation for people. This has created a need for more than 21 million units. Projections also say that 300 million people will migrate from rural areas to cities over the next twenty years.
"Cityscape India 2008 will shed the light on the development of residential units for the poor, who form 70% of population, along with its main concern of the development of units for medium-income people. This draws a clear picture of the future of real estate investments and available opportunities. For property developers, like Tanmiyat, it offers many incentives to express a strong presence, show their status in the market, and to take a detailed look at everything related to this enormous market," he added.
Cityscape India 2008 is an annual international conference and exhibition which concentrates on commercial architecture and real estate investment and development. It is attended by most influential developers and investors. This year, it will revolve around two parallel conferences on two themes; "Financing and Investing in Infrastructure" and "Summit of Retail City".
Saudi Arabia-based Tanmiyat Group started its operations in its country of origin before its expansion into the Middle East and neighboring regions. Its distinguished developments include Ajman Marina, which is regarded as one of the most important seafront projects overlooking the Arabian Gulf in terms of vision, planning and implementation. The project aims to transform Ajman into a main centre for tourism, business and accommodation through the provision of residential units for more than 21,000 people, along with commercial and entertainment facilities, which will be offered for sale to all nationalities on a freehold basis. The $3bn Ajman Marina project represents the main features of Ajman's future according to the highest international standards.
