During Volunteer Week, RSA employees were given the opportunity to participate in a range of community projects, making a hands-on contribution to worthy causes. A wide variety of activities were planned for the UAE, from partnering with the Emirates Environmental Group to plant trees donated to schools as part of the Million Tree Campaign to helping K9 Friends to relocate to its new warehouse in Al Quoz. RSA employees were also involved in projects at Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs and the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.
Scott Pickering, RSA CEO for Asia and the Middle East, commented:
"We are extremely pleased with the response to RSA's first ever Volunteer Week in the Middle East. RSA employees from across the region dedicated a huge amount of time and effort to ensure the campaign was a success, and they are a great example of how organisations can impact positively on the local community. The feedback we have received has been fantastic, and we are already looking forward to next year's event."
Earlier this month, the FTSE 350 named RSA as the fifth most responsible company, up from 25th place the previous year. The index helps investors who wish to hold shares in companies that try to make a positive contribution to society. RSA also recently enhanced its global energy division by announcing the launch of three 'Centres of Excellence' in the UK, Canada and Denmark. The centres were established to support 20 renewable energy teams around the world.
