Vijay Gomes appointed as Managing Director of Concept Media

Vijay is a Commerce graduate and has sixteen years of experience in business development and sales. He joined Concept in 2007 as Sales Director and then progressed as Division Head for Concept Media - Directories and Guides.

Vijay commenced his career in 1992 as a sales executive in Real Value Ltd. India. He moved to Alps Industries Ltd where he worked for two years.

He came to the UAE in 1994 and worked as an accountant in a local company for one year after which he worked for Chicago Bridge & Iron Eastern LLC as traffic coordinator for four years.

His marketing skills and passion for sales landed him in Hawk Media in 2000. He joined Hawk as a sales executive and progressed as senior sales executive and then sales manager. His dynamism, strategic outlook and leadership skills helped him rise to the post of business development manager in 2004.

Vijay encouraged industry knowledge and high standards of customer care within his team after joining Concept Media. His expertise in strategic marketing and business development complimented by result oriented leadership helped his team excel in directory business with Emirates Business Pages.

After becoming division head, he introduced many new marketing activities and was responsible for introducing first ever e-book in the directory genre. The entourage under his salesmanship earned profitability as well as credibility for Concept Media directories and guides. Handling the business in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Mumbai - India are a part of this foray.

As Managing Director Vijay will now also be responsible for all Concept Media publications which include magazines like RetailME, the flagship magazine launched in 2004, and Millionaire Magazine - Middle East and India edition.
